My Fave Foodie Movies + $200 DoorDash Giveaway

Be honest – who else brought whole meals into the movie theater when they were younger (or now I promise I won’t tell!)? The truth is there is nothing better than grabbing a meal and watching a good movie. On any given day you can catch me on the curled up in a blanket on the couch ordering DoorDash with the TV and surround sound on.

I want to give you that same opportunity to enjoy a food filled movie night so I teamed up with Chatty Patty’s Place and The Review Wire to bring you my Fav Foodie Movies and a $200 Door Dash Giveaway! Apply Below!

Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory (Both of them)

What’s a movie without candy? My love for Willy Wonka runs deep. I remember how much I wanted to have a little taste of that chocolate river. Me and a golden ticket woulda been bananas. And while WW is a very great children’s movie, there is a slightly disturbing but totally believable fan theory floating around that Willy Wonka was in fact a serial killer.

The Last Holiday

What would you do if you found out you only had a few weeks to live? My good sis Queen Latifah plays Georgia Byrd in this Christmas romance movie. She’s a cautious woman, who works in a department store but her true passion is cooking. When she is MISDIAGNOSED (a serious problem facing black women in the US), she draws out her life savings, heads to Europe, and begins to live the life she always dreamed of. It’s a really beautiful movie with an even more beautiful ending, check out my thoughts on my podcast Sips and Scripts!

A Bug’s Life

A Bug’s Life is one of the first movies I remember distinctly watching because it felt like I was watching a children’s HORROR film! The ant’s having to gather food all day every day to save enough for them and enough for those terrifying grasshoppers was literally so oppressive. It’s so interesting because as I go back to watch these movies from my childhood you can see Disney was actually really political we just didn’t realize…because we were 3 lol.

Ratatouille

Ratatouille is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen. Remy the rat loves food but not in the way other rats do. He likes to eat gourmet scraps and loves to cook and his rat pact doesn’t see the point. He meets Alfredo Linguini and makes him into a world renown chef by controlling him under his hat. The movie is just so wholesome – put it on your list if you’ve never seen it (or just wanna reminisce)!

Soul Food

Yawl Soul Food had to be on the list. Soul Food is a classic movie about a family whose glue – Big Mama, dies from the suga, leaving them bickering and fighting with one another instead of carrying on with Sunday dinners like she would have wanted them to. The movie is chaotic there’s a ex felon, a man stealing sister, a man stealing cousin, an overzealous ex, and a knife wielding woman scorned. All the elements of a great drama.

I’d love to hear about your fave foodie movies down in the comments!

Ratatouille is one of my favorite movies. I’ll have to watch it with my son when he comes home. We love movie night.
